T-Mobile Dash introduced QWERTY HTC smartphone

HTC Excalibur's version was introduced by T-Mobile USA - the Dash . The Windows Mobile powered device rivals with the Motorola Q and is actually thinner than it and their prices are the same. The Dash will cost $199 with a 2-year service agreement.

Features included in the T-Mobile Dash are:

  • Quad-band GSM plus EDGE and WiFi
  • QWERTY keyboard
  • Windows Mobile 5.

New 10-Megapixel Camera Phone from Samsung

The B600 launched by Samsung is a new 10-megapixel camera phone that is 6 mm thinner and 10 g lighter than the 7-megapixel camera phone (SCH-V770) and by combining mobile TV capability in Satellite standard differs from its previous megapixel camera phones. Users can watch live TV in crisp picture through Satellite DMB function.

The B600 includes such functions as an MP3 player, business card reader, and 128 polyphonic sounds.

3G strategy from T-Mobile

T-Mobile USA gives to the world its plan about 3G strategy, by means of the spectrum the carrier won in the recent FCC auctions. T-Mobile 3G services will be in a new band (1700 MHz). Deutsche Telekom spends $2.7 billion to build out the network based on UMTS /HSDPA. Work is scheduled to finish up in 2009.

As Robert Dotson CEO says the company has "already completed 50 percent of the UMTS equipment rollout in New York".

Toshiba works up Cell processor for phones

Toshiba, the Japanese leader in new tech announces that in cooperation with IBM and Sony, is engaged with a Cell processor able to be used for mobile phones . An improved product of today's 90nm results in the finished product of 65-nanometer technology.

The new product, Cell processor is going to have one big-dog processor and eight little-dog sub-processors, which together would deliver 200 gigaflops (Floating Point operations per second) of power.

T-Mobile launches Samsung t509s Plum

Samsung t509s Plum is Samsung's updated thin t509 handset with a new color of coat which gave the phone its present name. When the Trace was launched the t509 had to go away but not for a long.

Samsung t509s includes the following features:

  • GSM 850/1800/1900 + EDGE
  • AOL /Yahoo/MSN/ICQ instant messaging
  • Bluetooth
  • Speakerphone

Earlier this week the new myFaves calling plans were launched to which the t509s is also compatible with.

A new short-range wireless connection was uncovered by Nokia being smaller and more energy-efficient than current Bluetooth technology that is possible to be used in small devices such as watches.

Nokia Research Center developed a new technology called Wibree that can work together with Bluetooth short-range wireless connections and using just a fraction of the power.

Helio (MVNO) declared a new data card the Hybrid and thus becoming the first mobile virtual operator who can offer such a card. Sierra AirCard 580 represents a base off for the card. Connectivity of Helio's Hybrid card is only EV-DO Rev 0. Its software allows a connection between WiFi and the data card for Windows notebooks (those that have an in-built WiFi).

$85 monthly is a cost for unlimited data access with the Hybrid and the card is provided for free with a 2-year activation.

Nokia 5500 Sport Music Edition

The latest addition to its family of "Active" phones was made by means of introduction of the Nokia 5500 Sport Music Edition. The Music Edition is advanced with a 512 MB microSD card to be able to listen up to 375 songs. The kit also includes a fitness carrying strap, bicycle holder and sports headset packed in a new energetic color.
