T-Mobile has launched Nokia 6030

T-Mobile has launched the Nokia 6030. This dual-band (850/1900 MHz) GSM phone's main features:

  • a 65k color 128x128 pixel STN display
  • WAP 2.0 browser
  • speakerphone
  • FM radio
  • user-changeable faceplates
  • additional features include Java, MMS

The handset is now available on T-Mobiles web site for free, with a two-year contract included.

Nokia N73 (SoftBank 705NK) selected for Softbank Mobile

Nokia announced today that the Nokia N73 has been selected for Softbank Mobile Corp.'s 3G handset line-up. Nokia N73 is a 3G multimedia computer, which belongs to Nokia Nseries family. This handset is planned for release by Softbank Mobile from mid December in 2006, under the name of Nokia N73 (SoftBank 705NK).

Cingular To Launch Sony Ericsson W300i

Cingular has launched the Sony Ericsson W300i. As it was announced earlier, W300i is the first from two Walkman handsets to be added in Cingular's portfolio in near future, the second one is W810 and it is still expected to launch on Cingular shortly.

The main features of Sony Ericsson W300i are:

  • Quadband GSM plus EDGE
  • Walkman music player (MP3/AAC/WAV)
  • Speakerphone and stereo speakers
  • VGA Camera
  • IM: AIM /Yahoo/ICQ/MSN
  • Bluetooth

Nokia To Collaborate with Microsoft on Mobile Search

Nokia, the Finnish handset vendor, announced today, that Nokia Corp.s Mobile Search platform will integrate with Microsoft Corp.s Live Search features to streamline mobile information searches on Nseries smart phones.

The Mobile Search resides on Nokia devices menu. It allows users to get results quicker than if they had to use the phones Web browser.

NOKIA: new initiatives to improve environmental performance

A group of mobile manufacturers, network operators, suppliers, recyclers, consumer and environmental organisations, led by Nokia, has committed to improve the environmental performance of mobile phones.

The members of this group were Motorola, Panasonic Mobile Communications, France Telecom/Orange, Vodafone, TeliaSonera AB, Intel, Epson, Spansion and Umicore, and environmental experts from the WWF, the Finnish Environmental Institute, the UK's Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and the European Consumers' Organisation (BEUC).

Motorola to Sell Cell Phones via Robotic Retail Stores

Current and future Motorola consumers will be able to buy Motorola's cell phones and accessories at automated vending machines. As we know this is the first time a mobile device manufacturer has used robotic retail stores in the US.

Motorola announced these robotic stores will be branded INSTANTMOTO, and are expected to be deployed in 20 locations in the US by this November.

Nokia today announced the brand new handset Nokia 6288. This is a 3G compact slide phone with various high-end features, which include:

  • 512 MB memory card
  • bright QVGA screen with 262k colors (320 x 240 px)
  • 2.0-megapixel and VGA camera
  • Bluetooth
  • Video ringtones

The Nokia 6288 is available in white and black color schemes.
