Fido has recently released the new Nokia 1661, a basic handset with features like a 1.8" display, FM radio, MP3 player, and some standard apps (calendar, contacts, calculator). It is now available for free on a 2-year contract, or you can pick it up outright for only $55. If you're looking for an extra 'loseable' cell phone, this is the one you need.

The Motorola A455 Rival has made it to Canada. Heavy texters on Telus can now get this QWERTY slider for $99.99 on a 2-year contract. The phone's other features include 2Mpix camera, GPS, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack, just to name a few.

The next day after the LG Rival was released, Telus has also launched the new LG ‘Masterpiece’. However, it's definitely not a masterpiece as it sounds, because of its low-end nature. 3Mpix camera, speakerphone, Bluetooth and 10.4mm thick body finished with ‘premium’ materials - that's all we can tell you about it.

A new LG Black Label Series device has been revealed last week in an XML file. The new BL20 looks rather low-end spec-wise, but all we know for now is that it's a GSM phone with features like 3G support, QVGA display and hardware keyboard. We don't even know what the device looks like, but given it's Black Label descent, we don't have to worry about it being badly designed.

The new LG KG376 is an extremely basic flip phone with a 128x128 pixels screen, which should be good enough for text messaging, phone calls, and other basic operations. According to the recent report at BerryReview, Vodafone UK will soon be getting the BlackBerry 8520 Curve. The price for the phone is set at £165, which boils down to free after plans are taken into account. The same tipster also confirmed the upcoming October launch of the Storm 2 on Vodafone, and that the carrier has dropped the prices on the original Storm (from £400 to £387), and the Bold  (from £407 to £380).

According to the recent report by The BlackBerry Zone, the upcoming BlackBerry 9550 Storm 2 is set to launch on Vodafone UK in October, while a Verizon release is scheduled for November. Sounds reasonable, since the holiday season is a perfect time to launch a new and already popular handset.
