A PreCentral forum member nicknamed Cleanser has managed to unlock his Palm Pre to support voice calls and SMS service on Verizon. Data network access is still unavailable, but he's working on it. It sure won't be easy, though. Cleanser said that the hardest part was getting someone to add his device's MEID to the system.

T-Mobile UK has suddnly decided to rename its version of the HTC Hero to G2 Touch, as its second Android-based handset. The source of this info is T-Mobile UK's official Twitter account, which in particular announced that the G2 Touch would be free on a £40 per month (about $65) contract of 18 months.
What happened to the G1 brand, you ask? Well, currently it's unclear, but we presume some future Android phone with a QWERTY keyboard will bear this name.
According to TechRadar's recent report, O2 UK has confirmed that they'll be releasing the Android-powered Samsung i7500 Galaxy in August, though the pricing is yet to be announced. O2 Germany is offering it for €69.99 (about $98) on contract, so we can expect almost the same price for the UK customers, or even completely free on some monthly plan.

As you probably know, there's already a pink version of the HTC Hero that looks rather ugly. Fortunately, HTC's acknowledged this fact and came up with this softer pink version Carphone Warehouse's way, which is expected to be released sometime this month.
Besides the existing black, white and pink versions, some other colors are expected to be available in the near future.
The North American Nokia 5800 XpressMusic has recently received a new firmware update to version 21.2.025. It doesn't include any new features and seems to be just a stability release. We recomend you to update your handset anyway.
