The upcoming release of the BlackBerry Curve 8520 on T-Mobile was already confirmed a while ago. Today the handset has been approved by the FCC, which means the launch is inevitable an is closing fast. Excited? We are.

Some sources report that an HD-capable handset using the NVIDIA's Tegra processor will be released by the end of this year by some "top five" manufacturer. It will selling at T-Mobile and AT&T for just $199, and will operate on either Android or Windows Mobile platforms.

It looks like Alltel will also be offering the BlackBerry Tour. CrackBerry has posted a few spy shots from an unidentified source, on which you can clearly see the said Alltel-branded device. No details on pricing or launch date, but expect it to be available really soon for $199.99 on contract, same as from Verizon.

According to CNET, Mozilla is planning to deliver its mobile Firefox (aka Fennec) browser to the Android OS. About a year ago Mozilla said that Java was too limited in terms of functionality, so they refused to use it, but since Google has recently announced the Android NDK (Native Development Kit) v1.0, which should enable developers to write programs running in the operating system’s Linux-based layer, they should have no problem compiling an Android version of the Fennec.

Right after Verizon, Bell will be the next carrier to offer the on the BlackBerry Tour 9630 in North America. It should be available on July 17th at the following prices:

• $249.99 with a 3 year contract (promo)
• $449.99 with a 3 year contract
• $699.95 outright

The Skype 3.0 is now available for Windows Mobile handsets. The latest  build offers some new features, including a slightly updated UI, the ability to send files back and forth via Skype-to-Skype, and allows to send SMS messages from the app itself via Wi-Fi, which lets users avoid text roaming fees.

The HTC Hero has appeared on Orange UK's website, however it currently wears a teasing "coming soon" badge. According to Orange, the pricing information should be available tomorrow, but you can definitely expect the free-on-plan option among others. T-Mobile is also expected to release the device shortly after under a different name, probably G1 Touch, also fully subsidized.

We have confirmation that tomorrow, July 1st, Nokia will be releasing the first firmware update for the recently released N97 NAM. The software will be available OTA via the Nokia Software Updater. No word on what exactly will be changed in this release, but you're welcome to find it out for yourself.
