The FIC Neo1973 is a Linux-based quad-band GSM/GPRS smartphone, the first device to feature the open-source OpenMoKo platform. It is scheduled to ship for sale in September with a price tag of $350. The device is controlled entirely by its touch screen. However, it still needs to be worked on. The screen is difficult to use and often doesn't respond to fingertip inputs.

Although there were no official announcements made, AT&T is busy refining the EDGE network. Looks like the company wants to attract more subscribers by the time the long-awaited Apple iPhone launches. Also AT&T has been adding additional T1 connections to their slowest performing towers in order to boost their speeds up to 80kbps.

HTC has announced the release of the HTC Touch, the first device featuring the new underlying touch screen technology. The much-expected iPhone will be available on June 29th at more than 1,800 AT&T and nearly 200 Apple stores, plus the Apple website. Neither AT&T nor Apple is accepting pre-orders for the device. Depending on the memory capacity the iPhone will cost $499 or $599. Over 10 million handsets are expected to be sold in the first year bringing the company more than $5 billion.

Check out this one! It is the Sony Ericsson's PSP mobile phone, designed for PSP game lovers. The device features a rotating screen. While in the phone mode, you have a simple mobile phone with numeric keypad, menu and function keys. But when you turn the screen around 180 degrees, your menu/functional keys transform into game controls and you have a perfectly good portable gaming device.

Here is picture of a concept Nokia N74 mobile phone. There is almost no info on this one, only suppositions. All we can say is that the design is bad. The phone could use some contours and smoother rounder edges. Although it has a pretty large screen, with such a boring design this phone will not be popular, the experts guess.
