Sony won’t be adopting Google’s Android Wear platform in the near future.
According to Digi-Wo, the Japanese company will keep using its own Android-based OS for the upcoming SmartWatch 3.
This device will build on top of the SmartWatch 2, adding water- and dust-resistant body as well as wireless charging capability to the mix.
Moreover, we could get built-in Wi-Fi connectivity which should make the 3 a more independent product, one that can perfectly work even without a smartphone.
Sony is expected to announce its new smart watch during the IFA conference in Berlin, Germany.
