We knew high-end Nokia Lumias were having trouble selling in a niche flooded with superior Androids and iPhones, but we never imagined things were so bad.
So bad Verizon is already looking to get rid of leftover Lumia Icon inventory before giving the 5 incher the boot.
Technically, the boot has been given, but Big Red’s brick and mortar stores should still have surplus stock “in all areas”. Online, the Icon is nowhere to be found, although Amazon has your back as always, charging $99 with two-year contracts, or $499 outright.
The irony of the situation is Verizon continues to sell the Lumia 928 online, despite that thing being a good nine months older than the Icon.
