We always suspected LG’s stellar work on the Nexus 4 and 5 brought the Korean device manufacturer very close to Google. But we’re only finding out now just how close. So close that the G3 has a solid shot in preceding the N5 to score Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Also, so close that LG can already test 5.0 on a mysterious mid-range phone carrying the model number H440n. Clearly, the G3 makers got extremely early access to Lollipop source code, and are doing their very best to put Samsung, HTC and everyone else to shame.
Needless to point out how embarrassing it would be for Samsung if LG released the Android 5.0-running H400 before the arch-enemy’s flagships get treated to their Lollipop makeovers. Mind you, this H phone seems to sport a 1,280 x 720 pix res screen, so it can’t really be a powerhouse.
It is nevertheless the initiator of an H series, perhaps meant to fill out the gap between the current mid-end F franchise and the spearhead G family. Tipsters say that, of course, so it’s not a guarantee, but it makes sense.
Expect to see H devices on AT&T and T-Mobile, at the very least, in the near future, with no traces of Verizon or Sprint members yet.
