With Verizon known for generally withholding software updates a lot longer than competing networks, and Google themselves having trouble ironing out Lollipop kinks on Nexus devices, things didn’t look particularly encouraging for Big Red’s Moto X owners.
Yet Motorola seems to have beat the odds already, sending out sweet over-the-air packages for 2014 X variants on Verizon. Soak testers got a piece of the action a couple of days back, and since then, everything appears to have spread out.
Clearly therefore, there’s nothing wrong with this Android 5.0 firmware, no stability concern, palpable glitches or sudden battery life drop. It is however quite sizable, at nearly 700 MB, so don’t even think about pulling it via Verizon’s LTE network.
