Nokia, Samsung and Sony Ericsson have joined forces to develop a universal flash memory card that can be used in any digital device regardless of manufacturer.
It will use the Universal Flash Storage technology, which will make it a lot faster and more efficient, and should appear in 2009.
Other companies involved in the project are Micron Technology Inc., Spansion LLC, STMicroelectronics NV and Texas Instruments Inc.
