Nortel and Qualcomm have developed a technology that will allow users to easily switch between CDMA and Wi-Fi networks while talking on the phone. The technology was tested on the Nortel's IMS-based Voice Call Continuity network using the IMS/VCC client from Qualcomm. The companies plan to launch their IMS/VCC network and devices that support it by the mid 2008. This solution will allow CDMA operators to offer services like T-Mobile's Hotspot @Home.
