US cellular provider MetroPCS announced today it will implement EV-DO-based 3G network in seven of its markets, including three existing ones, that is Detroit, Dallas and Los Angeles, and four new ones, which are Boston, Las Vegas, New York and Philadelphia. The wireless network in the first three will be upgraded from 1xRTT to EV-DO. The new technology will allow MetroPCS to offer customers more enhanced data services, such as unified communications and video mail. No dates have been announced yet.
