NTP institute an action against Palm

$612.5 million defrayal was won by NTP this year from Research In Motion without litigating. The patent holding firm institute an action against Palm, maker of the popular Treo series of smartphones, declaring that Palm infringed on NTP's patents and refuse to resolve the issue without litigation.

NTP is looking for an injunction to stop the sale of Palm's products also the Complaint is about Palm's manufacture, use, sale, offer for sale, and importation into the U.S. of infringing products, methods, processes, services and systems that are primarily used or adapted for use in electronic mail systems with radio frequency communications to mobile processors and related services. There aren’t any comments on the lawsuit so far from Palm.

NTP appears to be suing Palm over the same issues it had with RIM. It happens that Palm only bundles email software with its handhelds not producing its own like RIM does it remains that the company can win the patent lottery twice.

Concerning earlier defrayal that was rather controversial because the US Patent and Trademark Office took a second look at NTP's patents and in every case found them to be invalid.

There are no comments for this at the moment.
