Palm announced it will start producing the unlocked version of its Centro smartphone. The device will cost $299 and will sport the same characteristics as the quad-band GSM/EDGE version from AT&T. It can be purchased directly from the company's website.
In addition, Palm also announced that Google will be offering its Maps for Mobile with My Location service to Centro owners. The application is free for download from Google.
