Boost Mobile® and loopt(TM) worked out the first of its kind location-based social mapping service. This service gives young mobile phone users possibility to share their location, status messages, photos and other on-the-go experiences with friends from their Boost Mobile phone. Boost users can automatically update the location of everyone in a private network of Boost customers and displays that information directly on a map on the phone. Boost Mobile offers Boost loopt to its customers with java-enabled handsets for free till the end of 2006. There are safety features and privacy controls by means of which Boost loopt offers protection of the privacy of its users.
The service is going to be launched for Boost Mobile subscribers on November 20th and will be available for $2.99 per month with the first month available for free as a trial.
