Microsoft and Sprint made a deal to develop and deliver new service offerings for Sprint's business and consumer customers.
The first consumer offering gives Sprint customers the possibility to use Windows Live Search for mobile on their wireless phones to search location-based content from the Internet. The service also provides new opportunities for highly relevant and targeted local advertising. The service is available with no additional cost to Sprint PCS Vision (SM) and Sprint Power Vision (SM) subscribers on all currently available data-capable phones.
Yahoo and Google have both made pacts with mobile players recently, but this is the first major one for Microsoft. There are such features as maps and directions, with capabilities allowing the indexing and discovery of highly relevant mobile content in Windows Live Search for mobile.
