Vivendi, French media-telecom giant filed a federal racketeering lawsuit against T-Mobile USA Inc. and its German parent. The lawsuit being filed under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, declares that T-Mobile USA illegally took Vivendi's $2.5 billion investment in one of Poland 's leading mobile telecommunications operators by means of fraud and racketeering. Vivendi declares that T-Mobile colluded with Solorz-Zak in a racketeering activity to take over PTC and corrupt Elektrim.
Jean-Bernad Lévy, chairman of the management board of Vivendi announced: “Vivendi considers that T-Mobile and Mr. Solorz's Elektrim illegally appropriated its $2.5 billion investment in PTC and, at every turn, have defied court orders. By filing this Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act complaint, Vivendi asks the court for a simple remedy: give us back our money or our PTC shares. Fairness and justice must prevail”.
There aren't any comments on pending litigation neither from T-Mobile nor from Deutsche Telekom in Germany . Times Online based in U.K. cited that DT spokesman reported that Vivendi's RICO suit against the German telecom follows a pattern of “absurd and nonsensical accusations from Vivendi, far removed from reality.”
