Palm deals to License Palm OS From Access

Palm made a deal to license the Palm OS Garnet (Palm OS 5) source code from Access and manufacturer of the Treo paid $44 million to license the OS as well as its code, including the right to make changes to the code. As we know last year Access Technologies bought PalmSource with it all rights to the Palm OS.

This year the company reported about their decision to stop development of the Palm OS and focus on the ALP Linux OS, which in its turn will be able to run Palm applications.
