During its first press conference of MWC 2009, Sony Ericsson has unveiled its latest Walkman handset, called the W995. Previously known as the Hikaru, the new Walkman features:
- 8Mpix slider;
- 3.5mm headphone jack;
- Stereo speakers;2.6" QVGA scratch-resistant screen;
- 118MB built-in memory;
- A-GPS with Google Maps and Wayfinder Navigator;
- Wi-Fi;
- Full PlayStation 3 compatibility;
- Media Go service
This phone will be available in Progressive Black, Cosmic Silver and Energetic Red in selected markets starting at the end of Q1 2009.
The company has also unveiled its new 12Mpix Symbian-based cameraphone called Idou. It doesn't have a model name yet and is expected to be released in the second half of 2009. Features include:
- 12.1Mpix camera with Xenon Flash, auto focus;
- 3.5" 16:9 touchscreen with 640 x 320 resolution;
- Symbian OS;
- Turbo 3G (HSDPA or HSUPA);
- Wi-Fi;
- GPS;
- Bluetooth;
- Micro M2 memory card slot
