Nokia has announced its new 6216 classic, the company's third model to support Near Field Communications (NFC) technology, and first to allow operators to integrate NFC services into the SIM card. The handset should be released in Q3 2009, and will retail for €150 ($196) before subsidies (not in the U.S.). Its features include:

- Quad-band GSM;
- Dual-band 3G (850/2100MHz);
- 2" QVGA display;
- 2Mpix camera;
- microSDHC support;
- Bluetooth
