According to the announcement from Nokia and Siemens they start a joint venture in Germany to compete with Ericsson. In this team up will take part Nokia’s handsets and Siemens network carrier-related operations. Nokia Siemens Networks will provide mobile services with the equipment that they need to provide more content quickly to subscribers. Nokia sells phones in 130 countries and employs 62,000 people while Siemens is Europe’s largest electronics and electrical engineering company, and employs more than 460,000 people. The companies are planning to begin the joint venture on April 1, 2007.
