Next month Samsung will be releasing its own new mobile OS, dubbed ''Bada'' ("ocean" in Korean), that's meant to enable smartphone-like features on mid-range handsets. The system will be open-source, and will allow developers to create applications and services for it. It has a rich graphical UI that can be incorporated into applications as well as basic functions like dialer, messaging, and address book. Bada-based phones will also be able to access content from Samsung's own mobile applications store.
