HP has officially announced the new Palm Pre 2 smartphone powered by the Palm's latest webOS 2.0 operating system.
The new webOS 2.0 offers a number of new features, such as the Just Type feature that lets you type and then choose whether you want to email, text, search the web, etc; HP Synergy that allows developers to include multiple messaging, contact, and calendar application sources; the new "Exhibition" feature that allows users to run any chosen app while the phone is charging on the included Touchstone Charging Dock.

The Palm Pre 2 will debut in the U.S. on Verizon Wireless in the coming months, while customers of SFR in France will get it on Friday. HP also said that the device will be available in Canada.
