As a result of a patent dispute between Broadcom and Qualcomm, which the latter recently lost, the US International Trade Commission (ITC) has banned the import and sale of all new 3G phones with Qualcomm's chips. It means that the release of all new CDMA, WCDMA or HSDPA models with Qualcomm chips will be temporarily stopped. Older 3G phone models already launched in the U.S. will be selling as usual. Also the ban doesn't apply to models that use other chips.
