Nokia's Wibree technology will soon be integrated with Bluetooth to provide wireless connectivity for very small low-power devices. In October 2006 when Wibree was announced, Nokia's officials stated that they intended to incorporate it with some already existing wireless standard to ensure its wide adoption, rather than making it a competiting technology. So they have joined Bluetooth, thus creating the new ultra low-power Bluetooth standard. The new standard opens a new range of mobile possibilities for end users, because now even such devises like watches or toys will be able to connect to one's Personal Area Network. Expect the first version of the ultra low-power Bluetooth to appear during first half of 2008.
