The successor of the Pantech Jest, the last year’s messaging device, Jest 2 is ready to appear at Verizon Wireless.
Just like the original handset, the Jest 2 has a sliding design with a QWERTY portrait keyboard. It’s a global-ready phone, which is a real rarity for a simple non-smartphone messaging device. Jest 2 supports both Verizon's CDMA network in the U.S. and GSM networks abroad.
The handset spots a 2.4-inch display, a 2 megapixel camera on the back and, as we mentioned, a slide-out keyboard. It supports microSD cards up to 32GB in capacity, as well as Bluetooth. The Jest also has a Navigator and V CAST Tones, and it also has the Opera Mini Browser for mobile web browsing.
The device will be offered by Verizon Wireless online starting from September 29 for just $79.99, on a two-year contract.
