Research In Motion (RIM) presents its latest BlackBerry 8820 smartphone, the first BlackBerry combining EDGE/GPRS/GSM and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g networks in a single device, allowing users to switch between them. The device receives the thinnest RIM smartphone design and comes equipped with a full QWERTY keyboard, large 320x240 display, and trackball navigation system. Other features include built-in GPS functionality, advanced media player, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity and a microSD/microSDHC expansion slot supporting microSD cards with up to 32GB capacity. Select wireless carriers around the world will start offering BlackBerry 8820 in the coming weeks. AT&T plans to launch the device in the U.S. later this summer.
