Yahoo to become the default search engine on the iPhone

Yahoo is apparently in the middle of talks to become a default search engine in the Apple iPhone.

The company is looking to benefit from the legal battle between the Cupertino giant and Samsung, which makes the vast majority of Android devices.

Yahoo, which actually uses Microsoft’s Bing service for search results, is available on the iPhone and iPad, but users have to manually select it. Google is a default option, the benefit that apparently costs up to $1 billion per year.

A deal with Apple would be the crown achievement for the current CEO who came from Google to head what used to be the world’s most popular website.
