It looks like once again Alltel has decided to follow Sprint's path and get the same handset, this time the HTC Touch Pro.
No, the company didn't announce that, it's just a rumor, backed up with this photo of what appears to be an Alltel-branded Touch Pro. Word on the street has it that the said handset will be released "soon" after the Touch Diamond.
Don't ask us when.

What's the difference between Palm 700p (Verizon) and 700wx (Alltel) handsets anyway? I mean, why would Palm release two separate firmware upgrades for each of these, when they're the same? Anyway, as expected the company didn't give any details on what the patches actually fix, but it's always nice to know you have an up-to-date firmware running on your handset, right? You can download the update here and here (choose with caution!).

Alltel has corrected the U.S. carriers' mistake of giving a single color to their HTC Touch smartphone.
Previously available only in Grey, the Alltel Touch now comes in a Burgundy flavor - and it looks nice.
No specs have been changed (of course) and the price of $129.99 with 2-year contract also remains the same.
