The new Alltel Hue cell phone manufactured by Samsung is now available online and from independent retailers across the US. The phone uses Alltel's Celltop technology to help users organize the information stored on the device and supports exchangeable faceplates. In addition, if you purchase an Alltel Hue now, you will also get an Alltel Snap flip-phone for free.

Like T-Mobile, Alltel will also offer two Samsung phones, R200 and R500.

Samsung SCH-R200 is slim entry-level candy bar phone, which features the same design as the R510, but packs fewer features to reduce the price.

Samsung SCH-R500 is 17mm thin clamshell phone with exchangeable covers. This CDMA2000 EV-DO device features 176x220 internal display and small external one, Bluetooth, 1.

The LG VX8600 being a new addition to the Alltel line up is available through Alltel Wireless now.  This slim phone is also available in three colors: Lime Green, Champagne Gold, and Vivid Blue with chrome detailing for every color The device features. 1.3 Megapixel Camera with video, expandable memory slot,  MP3 Player with external controls, Bluetooth®, Speakerphone, Celltop Ready. There are also some personal tolls such as calendar, calculator, alarm clock, stop watch, 32 polyphonic ringtones.

Alltel announced the launch of its version of the LG VX8600 called the AX8600.

The device is available in three colors- Vivid-Blue, Lime-Green and Champagne-Gold. All the phones are available for $50 after rebates and with contract.

LG AX8600 features same specifications as the VX8600 and has the same electrostatic music-control keys on the front cover.

The nation's fifth-largest mobile operator Alltel has recently made an attempt to sell itself to a large US carrier such as AT&T, Verizon or Sprint Nextel. Despite that AT&T is willing to use this possibility, it still remains skeptical about the combination because of some negative issues that would take place in the future. On the other hand, Verizon has less obstacles in this matter and has more chances to buy Alltel.

Celltop launched by Alltel Wireless is a new widget based home screen. Using Celltop it is easy to find and show such information like weather, news, sports scores and stock quotes. Celltop comes with 10 cells built-in. But it's not all the company is intending to increase this number.

For now Celltop is available on some Alltel phones and will be shipping on all new ones later in 2007.

Samsung presented another smart clamshell phone - the new Samsung SCH-U520. This device is very functional and many people could afford it. You will definitely like the features it has - EV-DO, Bluetooth, speakerphone, and a 1.3 megapixel camera with video recording. The SCH-U520 is available on Alltel -the US Carrier and we can mention that the phone is the first Alltel phone to support A2DP.

Alltel Corp. exposed third quarter revenues. Its customer number result showed the drop of the company's stock price by more than 6 percent in Wall Street trading. Alltel's gross customer additions for the quarter increased by 14 percent but they have had only 101,000 net new subscribers in the quarter. Of the 101,000 new subscribers, 75,000 were postpaid users. Alltel ended the quarter with more than 11 million customers.

Alltel has announced a deal to distribute some of XM Satellite Radio's commercial-free channels over cell phones.

For a $7.99 month flat fee, customers can gain unlimited access audio streams of 20 popular commercial-free XM music channels including: The 70s, 80s and 90s decades channels, Top 20 on 20 (Top 20 Hits), Ethel (New Alternative Rock), The City (Hip-Hop/R&B Hits), XMU (Indie Rock), Bluesville (Blues), Highway 16 (New Country Hits), and Viva (Latin Pop Hits).
