A new Motorola flip phone called XT806 was spotted on a Chinese regulatory website. It is destined for China Telecom's CDMA2000 network, and like the other MING handsets supports Chinese handwriting input, which is one of its main selling points. Other features include:

• 3.6" 854 x 480 LCD screen;
• 600MHz TI OMAP3430

LG has announced the upcoming release of an Android 2.2 upgrade for Verizon's Ally. Unfortunately, they didn't give any certain dates or even time windows, so it's unclear whether the update will be released this year.

HTC has confirmed it will be updating the Desire, Legend, and Wildfire with Android 2.2 "Froyo" during the third quarter of this year.

yongzh and ZodTTD, the guys behind some classic console emulators for a variety of smartphones have teamed up to to create a PSX emulator for Android that'll be running faster than the 3GS version created by ZodTTD. After the PSX emulator is done, ZodTTD intends to begin work on an Nintendo 64 emulator for Android, and then VLC.

If you own an Acer Liquid, you can already upgrade it to Android 2.2 with an unoficial Froyo ROM. Note that it's an early alpha and has limitted functionality.More info here.

HTC Dream and Magic users can now get a taste of Android 2.2 Froyo with the respective unofficial ports of the OS. It's nice to see that even not powerful handsets are capable of running the latest OS build.
