According to recent reports, Apple iPhone has serious connection problems on the British O2 wireless network. The carrier received complains from its customers that most of the time they see a "No service" sign of the screen. There was a suggestion on Apple’s Support Forums to fully restore the phone's firmware to avoid any more issues, but frankly speaking the problem must be in the network itself, especially when knowing that the indoor reception turns out to be even worse.

Well, they are not really unlocked; you purchase a regular locked handset, and then send the phone's IMEI to Apple for unlocking. Within 24 hours they send you an e-mail saying "thank you”, and after that you just connect your iPhone to iTunes and voila.

In an attempt to prevent the iPhone from further hacking and unlocking Apple decided to stop accepting cash for these handsets. The only way one can purchase an iPhone today is by signing a 2-year contract with an official carrier, such as AT&T for example. AT&T pays Apple about $18 per month for each iPhone they sell with a contract, so as you can guess this is much more convenient than if a person buys the device for cash and use it on some other network.
