Asus brings forth low-cost ZenFone C

Asus ZenFone C follows in the footsteps of the 2014 ZenFone 4, and has no connection with the rumored 5-inch flavor of the second-gen handheld.

The device is up for grabs in Taiwan for the equivalent of a measly $95, and it offers fittingly humble features. A 4.5-inch 854 x 480 pix res screen, dual-core 1.2 GHz Intel Atom oomph, 1 GB RAM, 5 MP rear camera, 2,100 mAh battery, pre-installed Android 4.

Asus Transformer Book T200 goes on sale stateside

Two separate T200 versions can be had via Best Buy and Amazon respectively, with the former apparently holding exclusivity on the lower-end, lower-cost T200TA-B2 model.Priced at $399.99, the half-tablet/half-mini-laptop mongrel runs a 32-bit copy of Windows 8.1, featuring mostly mediocre specs like 2 GB RAM, a 32 GB SSD and a 32-bit Intel Atom Z3775 processor.Meanwhile, the $499 Asus Transformer Book T200TA-C1 available on Amazon doubles down on RAM and internal storage, considerably upping the processing speed ante too, thanks to a quad-core 64-bit Intel Z3795 Bay Trail-T SoC.

AT&T to start selling Asus PadFone X mini on October 24th

AT&T, Asus and Intel announced the PadFone X mini smartphone/tablet combo. The device will start selling on October 24th for $199.99 requiring no contract signing activities.The mini packs Intel’s dual-core Atom Z2560 CPU, a single gig of RAM, 8GB of expandable storage, 5-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front cameras. The phone part has a 4.5-inch 854×480 (FWVGA) pixels screen and a 2,060 mAh battery, whereas the tablet dock rocks a 7-inch 1280×800 pixels display and its own 2,200 mAh battery.

5.5-inch Asus ZenFone expected to be unveiled in January

Asus' ZenFone series of Android-based smartphones currently includes devices of three sizes: 4 inches, 5 inches, and 6 inches. However, there are certainly users who’d find a 5-inch handset a bit too small, and a 6-inch one way too large.According to DigiTimes, a 5.5-inch variant will be added to the new product line. Interestingly, the website reports that Asus plans to aggressively promote the new ZenFones in the US.

Asus has recently unveiled its latest 8-inch Windows 8.1 tablet – VivoTab 8. Unlike the company’s earlier VivoTab Note 8, this unit doesn’t have a Wacom Digitizer Stylus and users are “stuck” to paint with their fingers.However it's slightly faster, sporting the newer Atom Z3745 chip, compared to Atom Z3740 on the VivoTab Note 8.The VivoTab 8 is an entry-level tablet with specs that won’t turn you into a productivity powerhouse; instead, you’ll get to browse the web, cyber-schmooze, manage email and so on, all while on the go.

ASUS unveiled the MeMO Pad 7 tablet, which rocks Intel’s Atom 64-Bit quad-core 1.86GHz processor and just 1GB of RAM.Rest of the specs include a 7-inch 1280×800 LED-backlit IPS screen with “oleophobic coating,” 8 or 16 GB expandable storage, 5-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front cameras, stereo speakers and a battery that should provide up to 9 hours of usage.Size wise, the ASUS MeMO Pad 7 measures 4.

Asus has officially joined the wearables market with its very own ZenWatch.ZenWatch looks nicer than LG’s G Watch R and Samsung’s Gear S, but it’s definitely in the same league.Asus’ baby is very similar to other Android Wear products, rocking a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chip coupled with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. There’s also a 1.4Wh battery which should get you through the day.

Asus slaps 64-bit Intel Moorefield chip on Fonepad 7

The Taiwan-based device manufacturer is kicking the 64-bit festivities into gear in China.The device spotted swinging by the FCC under the cryptic K007 codename back in August. Now, the voice call-supporting slate is called the Fonepad 7 FE7530CXG, and its local commercial launch is reportedly set for September 1.The Intel Moorefield-powered Fonepad 7 is virtually identical to the Merrifield variant unveiled a few months ago as far as all the other specs go.

Two Asus Transformer Pad TF303 devices to be unveiled next week

Asus is preparing to unveil two additional Transformer Pad devices at next week’s IFA in Berlin.The Transformer Pad TF303CL and Transformer Pad T303K will both rock 10.1-inch full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) screens, 2GB of RAM, and 16 or 32 GB of internal storage. Android 4.4 KitKat will run the show right from the bet.The former will come with Intel’s x86-based Atom Z3745 processor, while the latter will use the “good ol’” Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro SoC.
