According to Hank Kafka,
vice president of network architecture for AT&T Mobility, the
company plans to upgrade its entire 3G network to HSPA (7.2Mbps) by
the end of 2008.
AT&T had 255 markets covered by HSDPA in the end
of 2007, and expects to have 350 major metropolitan markets running
HSPA before the beginning of 2009.

AT&T announced the availability of the Motorola Z9, the slider variant of the RAZR2 V9.
The phone comes in a deep burgundy color and features a 2Mpix camera, integrated GPS, microSD slot for additional memory and an MP3 player.
The carrier offers the Moto Z9 for $149.99 after an on-line discount and a 2-year service agreement.

AT&T has just launched Sony Ericsson’s new HSDPA-capable Z750a clamshell phone.
It's not the best one of course, but is still a nice handset with decent features. The price is $50 after a rebate. Features of the Z750a:

Apparently, the
launch of the anticipated RIM BlackBerry 9000 will be delayed until
July or August, instead of late May as previously rumored.
The device
will be available from AT&T and will feature integrated GPS,
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, 2 or 3.2
megapixel camera, as well as support for GSM and 3G HSDPA networks.

announced the upcoming launch of its new MediaFLO-powered Mobile TV
service.
It is expected to be available sometime in May on two
exclusive handsets, the Prada-like LG Vu and the newly announced
Samsung Access.

announced the Samsung Access, the first phone to support the
carrier's new Mobile TV service.
This is a 3G candy bar cell phone
featuring a 2.3" widescreen display, dedicated TV button, stereo
Bluetooth, microSD slot, external speakers, and a 1.3Mpix camera.
The
phone will be released in May.

The LG Vu phone for AT&T, which was supposed to be launched yesterday, will most likely be
released on Monday, as the carrier has already distributed promo materials in the stores.

FCC has just approved the new Nokia N78 for U.S. largest carrier AT&T. This is a mid-range Symbian-based smartphone working on GSM 850/1900 bands and featuring a 3.2Mpix camera, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, AGPS support, FM radio, and other stuff.

RIM BlackBerry fans in the U.S. will be happy to hear that AT&T has finally started selling the good old BlackBerry Pearl 8120. It is not the best smartphone there is, but still it's a good compact mid-range business messenger. The 8120 is basically the updated 8110 model, and comes with a 2Mpix camera, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, upgraded web browser, etc, but unfortunately lacks GPS support.
