Samsung Galaxy Tab headed to Verizon, AT&T, Sprint

Wall Street Journal reported that the Samsung's newly launched Galaxy Tab Android-powered tablet will be available on 3 major U.S. carriers, namely Verizon Wireless, AT&T, and Sprint. The Galaxy Tab, which which is considered as a direct rival to Apple's iPad, would likely cost between $200 and $300, which is assumed to be a subsidized carrier price.

LG and AT&T have announced the availability of a new touchscreen phone, the LG Encore. The phone is on sale now online for $49.99 with a 2-year contract and rebate, and features:

  • 3G HSDPA support;
  • 3-inch touchscreen display;
  • 3 megapixel camera/camcorder;
  • Music player;
  • FM radio;
  • AT&T Mobile Music support;
  • GPS;
  • microSD memory card slot;
  • Bluetooth 2.

AT&T's LG Encore coming September 5th

Apparently, AT&T will be launching the LG Encore handset on September 5th. It is a full touchscreen feature-phone that features a:

  • 3" touchscreen display;
  • Dual band HSDPA/UMTS;
  • Quad band GSM;
  • 3Mpix camera with video recording;
  • microSD card slot;
  • aGPS;
  • AT&T’s Social Net, Adress Book, and Navigator programs;
  • Up to 3 hours of talk time

Pricing is unknown at the moment.

AT&T Announced Sony Ericsson Vivaz S60

AT&T has announced today that it will soon start selling the Sony Ericsson Vivaz, a Symbian S60 5th edition powered handset.

It offers an 8.1Mpix camera with 720p HD video recording support, GPS, Wi-Fi, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a 3.2" nHD display. The camera also supports auto-focus, face detection, an image stabilizer, flash, and geotagging.The device will be available beginning on September 5th and will cost $79.

The FCC has given the green light to the new LG C900 dubbed "Pacific", a Windows Phone 7 handset for AT&T. The phone should be available on September 28, and will feature support for WCDMA bands II and V, integrate a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and have a large touchscreen display.

Samsung has introduced a pair of media-centric dumbphones for AT&T, called the Flight II (pictured left) and the Eternity II (pictured right).The Flight II features a 2Mpix camera, microSD slot supporting up to 16GB, a full HTML browser, a switch from the original Flight's portrait QWERTY to landscape, and support for AT&T's Video Share service.
