AT&T started selling the WM6.5-powered LG eXpo. Strangely enough, the phone comes without one of its main selling points, the Pico Projector. But for those who don't care the phone alone is available for $199 after a $100 mail in rebate and a 2-year agreement.Specifications:

  • 3.2" 800×480 touchscreen display;
  • 1 GHz processor;
  • Quad-band GSM;
  • Tri-Band UMTS/HSDPA;
  • 5Mpix autofocus camera with 5X zoom;
  • Slide out QWERTY keyboard;

The FCC has approved the new Genus hybrid cellular-satellite phone by TerreStar and AT&T. With this phone one can make close-range calls over AT&T's cellular network, while being able to seemlessly swich to the satellite network for coverage in remote areas of the United States, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands and in territorial coastal waters.

Voicemail-to-Text Service from AT&T

AT&T now offers a new service that transcribes voicemails to text and sends them to a user's handset via SMS or email. Users can respond to or forward voicemails via SMS, email or voice and can also store their voicemails for a period of time. The service costs $10 per month and is provided by Nuance.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Coming to AT&T and T-Mobile?

If recent rumors are true, Sony Ericsson is planning on releasing two variants of the XPERIA X10. The handset will be available from both AT&T and T-Mobile, and should be out in early 2010. Both versions will have 3G support for their respective carriers, will be heavily subsidized in order to lower the phone's $700+ price tag.

AT&T Unveiled LG's eXpo with Pico Projector

AT&T and LG have unveiled a new sideways slider called the eXpo, which comes with a removable Texas Instruments DLP Pico Projector. The Pico Projector weighs 1.8 oz and can project pictures, videos or other content up to eight feet. Specs of the phone itself include:

HP's Obsidian renamed to iPAQ Glisten, Now on AT&T

The business-centric HP iPAQ K3 Obsidian that was spotted back in July has been finally launched by AT&T. The phone is now known as iPAQ Glisten, and will be available for purchase in "the coming weeks" for $179.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and 2-year contract.

AT&T Launched LG Shine II

AT&T Launched LG Shine II

AT&T has just launched the new LG Shine II on its network. The Shine II is a slider phone, similar to the original, with 3G support and stereo Bluetooth. It comes with a 2.2" wide mirror LCD, Java 2.0 support, and a 2Mpix camera with autofocus, flash and video capture capability. The phone also features on-board photo editing software, as well as a music player with customizable equalizer, music recognition and ringtone creator.
