It looks like AT&T will soon be offering a "rainbow" of Palm Centro handsets, as you can see on the picture to the right.

Most of you probably know that the carrier will release an “obsidian black” Centro in a month, so the rest of this color range could be additional GSM models.

$99 Unlimited Calling Plan from AT&T

AT&T didn't fall behind as well, and on February 22 will start offering its new $99 unlimited calling plan, which will include free local and long distance calls within the U.S. borders.

The new plan will be available for both new and existing customers, but unfortunately the only compatible handsets are cell phones; smartphones or PDA's are not supported.

AT&T Tilt Updated

HTC will release a new firmware update for the AT&T Tilt in March.

The update kit will include DTMF tones for the slide-out QWERTY keyboard, the Microsoft Adaptation Kit Update (AKU) 0.4.4, and improved overall device performance and stability.

Palm Centro Coming Soon to AT&T

AT&T plans to release the Palm Centro phone on February 19th.

The price is not confirmed yet, but we expect $99 with a 2-year contract. Just to remind you, the Palm Centro is an ugly and pretty low-end CDMA smartphone with a square 1.56" screen, QWERTY keyboard, 1.3Mpix camera, and support for EDGE data.

AT&T is the New Wi-Fi provider for Starbucks

T-Mobile will no longer provide access to Wi-Fi service in Starbucks coffee houses and stores across the country.

Starting this spring Starbucks will offer its customers 2 hours of free Wi-Fi access provided by AT&T.

Additional 2 hours will cost $3.

AT&T Offers Nokia 6085 in Pink

AT&T started offering the Pink version of the Nokia 6085 for Valentine's Day.

Now it looks like some girlish toy, but it is still the same 6085 model featuring a VGA camera with 4x optical zoom, stereo Bluetooth functionality and preloaded Java demo games and applications.

It is available online for free.

Here's yet another Valentine's offering from AT&T - the Pantech Duo in Red.

The Pantech Duo is a WM6-based 3G handset with both QWERTY keyboard and numeric keypad, 240x320 display, Bluetooth support, Windows Media Player 10 and more.

It should start retailing this week.

AT&T Offers 16GB Apple iPhone

The 16GB iPhone appeared on the Apple.com webpage.

The price for the new version is $499 with a contract with AT&T. The old 8GB version still costs $399, but in the near future its stock will decrease.

As for the AT&T site, they list the 16GB model in the "Business Center".

FCC Approves the Motorola W760r

FCC has recently approved the new unannounced Motorola W760r, a 3G cell phone, successor to the V365 model.

It has the same clamshell form factor as the V365, but offers some upgraded specifications:

  • 3G WCDMA 850/1900;
  • Quad-band GSM/EDGE;
  • 2Mpix camera (photo/video);
  • Stereo Bluetooth;
  • microSD slot (up to 4GB).
