Nokia is pushing another over-the-air update to its latest Symbian devices the Nokia 701, Nokia 700 and Nokia 603.The Belle FP1 update brings a lot of important improvements to the handsets, enhancing their performances and adding some tweaks to the interface.For starters, it bumps up the clock speed of the processor on the handsets to 1.3GHz which entails faster performance. Microsoft has released its Office applications to Nokia’s previous operating system of choice. The Microsoft Office apps that were included for the mobile devices were Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.All of the applications let you create and edit documents except for PowerPoint which unfortunately is only allowing users to edit and not create.According to Nokia, the new apps can be made available to your device by checking for a software update on your phone since they won’t be available for a few weeks in the Nokia Store.

While Nokia may have seemingly given up on Symbian in favor of Windows Phone, it does not mean that the Finnish company will stop producing Symbian devices.According to a recent leak, Nokia 801 is probably an upcoming Nokia Belle handset.It will be coming with a screen size set at 4” with a 640×360 AMOLED ClearBlack display. It is also expected to sport a 1.4GHz processor with 512MB of RAM, a 12MP rear-facing camera with 1080p Full HD video recording.

While Symbian may not exactly be the most favored platform when it comes to smartphones, undoubtedly there still tons of Nokia users out there still using the operating system.The good news for these users is that according to a tweet by Nokia, the Nokia Belle update is expected to start rolling come February of 2012.The handsets that will be receiving the Nokia Belle update includes the Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia E6, Nokia X7, Nokia C6-01, Nokia C7, Nokia 500 and Nokia Oro.
