BenQ Mobile is through a tough time now, as the Munich-based company will be divided and sold. It is a result of a failure that happened after they acquired from Siemens AG. Although, it’s absolutely not a surprise, but rather a logical end, as the attempt suffered through an investigation into its bankruptcy filing.

The administrator announced that there would be "no realistic chance" to sell off BenQ Mobile as a whole.

German mobile phone manufacturer BenQ Mobile is under the examination of German public prosecutors with a view to its bankruptcy, thus chief senior public prosecutor Christian Schmidt-Sommerfeld said to the southern German daily Süddeutsche Zeitung that it began an investigation into the bankruptcy of BenQ Mobile without any details to comment.

BenQ Mobile's management knew about the company's cashflow problems even in August, but didn't tell a word to its employees and deliberately delayed filing for bankruptcy.

There is an opposition between Siemens and BenQ Mobile because of the last-mentioned insolvency. Siemens AG’s executives delay huge pay raises to help German workers stranded by BenQ. An original deal between Siemens and BenQ Mobile was about divesting a non-performing business unit, as well as BenQ had pledged to maintain Siemens’ German production sites.

Last year BenQ got Siemens’ handset unit in an agreement that came with $500 million cash.
