Tech consumers can already pick up an unlocked, SIM-free copy of the BB Passport, which they can then activate on their network of choice. Stateside, the hybrid QWERTY keyboard/touchscreen-sporting gadget is $599, so more or less in line with expectations.That’s less than most competing Android-running flagships, and also south of Apple’s iPhone 6 ask, although it’s hardly what you’d call affordable.

BlackBerry Passport coming to T-Mobile

A leaked photograph shows the back side of the BlackBerry Passport, with the T-Mobile brand prominently displayed on back.The BlackBerry Passport will apparently be positioned as a business tool with a 4.5 inch screen and 1440 x 1440 resolution. A quad-core 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 CPU is under the hood, with the Adreno 330 GPU crunching graphics. 3GB of  RAM is inside along with 32GB of native storage.

Working on the BlackBerry Passport, the Canadian company should’ve opted for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 rather than Snapdragon 800 chip.The S801 is part of the same family of chips with slightly faster cores and improved GPU. With Snapdragon 801, BlackBerry would’ve created a more future-proof device that would keep performance for longer times.In other words, a little to no extra work is required to use Snapdragon 801 instead of Snapdragon 800, yet the performance gains are visible.
