Research In Motion has recently updated its BlackBerry Internet Services to version 3.0. The latest version offers some new features, such as Gmail label support, better attachment support, and more languages.

Verizon Wireless has released an official OS 5.0 firmware update for the BlackBerry Tour 9630. The new build offers a number of improvements, including smoother camera operation, improved Bluetooth and call log support, better SMS/MMS software, improved video streaming, and better GPS support.

In case you didn't know, Twitter beta for BlackBerry is now open to anyone willing to try it out. The updated app offers comprehensive notification support for DMs, replies, and mentions, the ability to create and manage lists, on-device profile editing, magnified avatar viewing, and improved performance. CrackBerry has confirmed that the recently-released high-end portrait QWERTY BlackBerry 9650 for CDMA networks will be wnown as the next Bold rather than Tour. The phone is now available from Verizon, and will be available from Sprint in the near future.

The Bold 9650 boasts 802.11b/g WiFi, a 3.2 megapixel cam, GPS, and support for US EV-DO Rev A networks or UMTS/HSPDA when abroad.

Google has released the new Maps 4.0 for BlackBerry users. The latest build brings voice search and Buzz support, and is available for download now.

Some details on the BlackBerry Curve 9300 have been revealed last month, and unfortunately it's not a powerhouse we hoped it to be. The device is a successor to the Curve 8500 model, and will feature a low-res 320×240 screen, run on OS 5.0, and will have supprt for 802.11n Wi-Fi and W-CDMA networks. Still there's no info regarding the camera pixelcount, battery life, CPU,RAM, but we'll that find out eventually.

RIM’s Thai website is currently listing a white BlackBerry 9700 with a black track-button-nose. There's no telling whether it will be available anywhere in Europe or the U.S., though, but any color option is always welcomed. Anyone interested?

Verizon Wireless' branded V Cast Apps market has gone live and is now available only to BlackBerry Storm2 owners. Support for other RIM devices (and hopefully other mobile platforms) is being worked on and many more devices will be compatible with the service in the coming months.

Just in case you didn't know, Verizon's BlackBerry Tour 9630 now has support for PTT, which it apparently received with an app included in the OS 5.0 update issued earlier. Once the app is installed, the Tour's so-called convenience button on the side will be instantly turned into a PTT button. And the best thing is that the service is free of charge if you activate both a "qualifying" voice plan and BlackBerry data plan.

Apparently, Rogers will be the first carrier to offer the new BlackBerry Pearl 9100 smartphone in Canada. Rogers branded dummies have been spotted recently (and photographed), suggesting that the official launch is just around the corner.
