According to BGR, the new BlackBerry 9000 is getting official next week on Monday, May 12 at the Wireless Enterprise Symposium 2008 in Orlando.
Also, referring to the same source, the final name of the device might be BlackBerry Bold, though this is not yet confirmed (and probably won't be).
As for us, we'd prefer to wait for the announcement instead of speculating.

As promised, Verizon has released the RIM BlackBerry Curve 8330 right on schedule.
The handset is now available with a 2-year agreement for $219 and a $50 rebate. You all know its specifications, nothing has changed, so there's no need too review them again. Sprint subscribers are apparently next to get the device, as it will be launched on Sprint's network sometime this month, though we still don't know the exact release date.

RIM, concerned with the possible low sales of the upcoming high-priced BlackBerry 9000 smartphone, decided to make a budget version of the handset by cutting out 3G support.
It will also have a slightly different bezel and back casing.
Why they decided to change the body is beyond me...

Today we have more info on the RIM's first BlackBerry clamshell Kickstart announced a couple of days back. Apparently, the phone is headed to T-Mobile and will be available in a variety of colors sometime in September.

BGR has published some photos of the first ever BlackBerry clamshell phone called the Kickstart.
As you see the handset comes with the branded BlackBerry-style keypad and apparently has two LCD displays.
Other than that there are no more details available about the phone's specs, carriers, or a release date, though BGR claims the Kickstart will appear before the end of the year.

Verizon will be the second CDMA operator to offer the BlackBerry Curve.
The phone will be available online starting May 9, and on May 12 it will appear in stores. The prices are $319.99 with a $50 rebate on a 2-year contract or $439.99 contract free.
Sprint in its turn still lists the Curve as "Coming Soon", despite that the handset should have been already released.

According to NY times, RIM is developing a new iPhone killer, a fully touchscreen BlackBerry smartphone.
After the release of Pearl and Curve series, BlackBerries entered the consumer orientated phone market, and started offering features like in-built camera, memory card slot, multimedia player and headphone jack.
However, those who use their handset for entertainment and web browsing will surely prefer the iPhone.

AT&T started selling WiFi-less BlackBerry 8110.
This model looks like the BlackBerry Pearl 8120; it comes in a choice of red and "titanium", lacks Wi-Fi, but adds GPS navigation instead.
You can get the 8110 now for $149.99 after contract and rebates, $50 cheaper than its counterpart.

It will be available for purchase starting May 1 for $229.99 after contract and rebates.
