The Cara gold edition of the Jabra JX10 headset is now available. Created by the world famous design company Jacob Jensen, the device comes in 24k gold coating and costs $300. Jabra JX10 is one of the smallest and lightest headsets, weighing less than 10 g and measuring less than 4 cm in length. There are 28,000 units of this Bluetooth headset available in most of the countries.

Nokia's Wibree technology will soon be integrated with Bluetooth to provide wireless connectivity for very small low-power devices. In October 2006 when Wibree was announced, Nokia's officials stated that they intended to incorporate it with some already existing wireless standard to ensure its wide adoption, rather than making it a competiting technology.

Verizon Wireless and Jabra have recently introduced the new Jabra BT8010 convertible Bluetooth stereo headset at the CTIA Wireless 2007 show. The BT8010 is the first phone from Jabra that can also be used as a stereo headset by connecting a special stereo earpiece to it.

The BT8010 headset features Bluetooth 2.0, A2DP, Audio/Video Remote Cotnrol profile, a jog wheel for easy navigation, and a Multipoint connection.

Kevin Keating, senior marketing manager for the Bluetooth SIG says that Bluetooth may be used by as little as 30 percent of those that have a device with the wireless capability. Bluetooth Version 2.1 + Enhanced Data Rate is the upgraded name and the capabilities are aimed on ease of use, improved performance, and power savings.

The Jabra BT8010 is the first headset to have the important feature of pairing a cellphone and a mp3 player. Consumers can listen to music and if someone calls it is easy to switch the function to work with the cellphone. By means of Digital Signal Processing the Jabra BT8010 offers a better audio quality.

The bluetooth device has phonebook + caller ID features for the cellphone.

According to the Bluetooth SIG there are now 1 billion devices shipments from Bluetooth with 12 million shipments weekly where there are cellular handsets topping the charts in terms of volume. Some other Bluetooth enabled devices that are in favour include stereo headsets, computers and mice/keyboards.

About next year it is going to be commercially available a High-speed Bluetooth utilizing ultra-wideband (UWB) technology.

Bluetooth major player - Cambridge Silicon Radio (CSR) , reducing its revenue targets till the end of the year found its shares fall 15 percent in trading. As CSR comments the reduction can be explained by the number of new low-spec, low-cost cellphones that don't use Bluetooth chips and are also targeted to enter markets as India and China where customers need only the possibility to make calls and that's all.

A new short-range wireless connection was uncovered by Nokia being smaller and more energy-efficient than current Bluetooth technology that is possible to be used in small devices such as watches.

Sony Ericsson and Fossil unveiled the MBW - 100 Bluetooth Watch. Sony Ericsson provided Bluetooth 2.0 technology for this devive and Fossil supplied with watch technology and design. The MBW - 100 allows users to control calls and music from the watch, users have the possibility to view text message alerts also. When a call comes in, the name or number appears on the OLED watch face.
