There's a leaked OS 5.0.0.314 update currently available to BlackBerry Bold 9000 and Curve 8900 users. It's not an official release, so you all know the drill. Do you?

RIM has recently unveiled the successor to one of the most recognizable BlackBerryes out there, the Bold 2, a.k.a. the Onyx, a.k.a. 9700. The handset has already been announced T-Mobile USA and AT&T, with the latter to release it in the "coming weeks" for $199 after $100 mail-in rebate. According to RIM, more carriers will announce the device in November.

AT&T is now offering the white version of the BlackBerry Bold. Nothing has changed except the color. It's priced the same as the original black version - $199.99 after rebate, with a 2 year contract.

T-Mobile has finally made its upcoming flagship BlackBerry Bold 2 (Onyx) 9700 official, and gave it a November launch date. Yeah, like that was a secret to anyone... The release confirmations for the U.S. and the rest of Europe are expected to follow shortly.

According to BGR's trusted source, T-Mobile USA will apparently be launching the BlackBerry 9700 a.k.a. Bold 2 a.k.a. Onyx on November 11th. The information is not confirmed yet, so for now we'll wait for the official word.

 

The phone will be announced for AT&T and T-Mobile on October 21st.

According to the recent report at BerryReview, Vodafone UK will soon be getting the BlackBerry 8520 Curve. The price for the phone is set at £165, which boils down to free after plans are taken into account. The same tipster also confirmed the upcoming October launch of the Storm 2 on Vodafone, and that the carrier has dropped the prices on the original Storm (from £400 to £387), and the Bold  (from £407 to £380).

In case you missed it, Rogers has released a new OS update for the BlackBerry Bold bumping the version to 4.6.0.282. The new build can be downloaded from the Rogers BlackBerry download page. As always, data backup is your friend.

After a long wait RIM and SK Telecom have finally announced the upcoming availability of the localized version of BlackBerry Bold in Korea. That said, the positions of local manufacturers such as Samsung, LG, and Pantech on the Korean market are very strong. We don't know whether a phone with an English QWERTY keyboard could be of use in Seoul, but options are always welcome, and since the Bold has managed to make it through, there will be others.

To all AT&T customers: if you wanted to get a high-end BlackBerry handset, today's your chance. The carrier has lowered the prices for the Curve 8900 and Bold models, but for a limited time only. Here are the prices:
