SoftBank is about to release its new PHOTOS 920SC cameraphone in Japan, so we decided it deserves some attention.

It has two cameras: a 5Mpix one with Xenon flash, 3x optical zoom, auto focus, and face recognition, and a 3Mpix CMOS cam for video calls.

Sony Ericsson has just announced its newest Cyber-shot camera-phone, the K770. Like all handsets from the Cyber-shot family this one features an auto-focus lens system, but despite that remains considerably thin, measuring 14.5mm in profile. The camera itself is very easy to use, thanks to shortcut function keys on the keypad and simple activation.

Samsung Siren SCH-a870 is a new clamshell-style camera-phone. It produces high-quality photos, is Bluetooth-compatible and features VibeTonz - a hardware/software combo, which delivers very loud sound playback.

The Siren is now available on a number of carriers.

Casio's new W53CA Exilim mobile phone is ready to take on Sony Ericsson's CyberShot camera-phone. Sony Ericsson was the market leader in this field for quite a long time, but now it has a serious competitor. The Casio W53CA Exilim camera-phone features the most advanced specifications to date for this class of devices. It can completely replace a camera.

Kodak and Motorola are developing a new 5Mpix camera-phone, which should appear the end of 2007.

The new Motorola-Kodak handset is expected to become at least an equal match to camera-phones from other well-known manufacturers, such as Nokia, LG, Sony Ericsson, or Casio.

The device must have high-end features and a qualitative camera to be competitive.
