Casio G'zOne Brigade is a new rugged handset from Verizon, which should be available sometime brefore the year's end. It is a sideways clamshell that has both a numeric keypad and a full QWERTY keyboard. Other features include:

• 3G for data;
• Push-to-talk capabilities;
• 3Mpix camera with flash;
• microSD card support;
• 2.5mm headset jack;
• dedicated music and messaging keys;
• Bluetooth

Pricing wasn't announced.

PhoneArena has posted some live pics of the upcoming "tough" Casio G'zOne Rock C73 clamshell. They still haven't managed to find anything on the phone's specs and the possible release date, but we expect it to hit the shelves by holidays at the earliest.

Casio, Hitachi and NEC have agreed to merge their respective mobile phone divisions into one single entity. NEC will initially own 66% of the said joint venture. In their view, combining their technology and resources will help them better compete in the home market of Japan, as well as abroad. The companies plan to complete the unification by April 2010.

The FCC has approved the Casio Brigade C741 for Verizon. According to the documents on the site the phone comes with Bluetooth, MP3 player, and MediaFLO interface. Stay tuned for more details.

As we expected, Verizon has released the long rumored Casio EXILIM C721 cameraphone for all its customers. The phone comes with a 5.1Mpix camera with autofocus, image stabilization, and a 3x optical zoom, and is fully compliant with mil-spec 810F for dust, shock, temperature, and water resistance. Other highlight include support for 8GB memory cards and compatibility with Verizon's VZ Navigator service.

We have some live photos of the Casio Exilim C721 phone for Verizon. According to the source these are images of the actual, working device, as the phone has already arrived at the retail channel. That means the official launch of the Exilim will probably take place on June 10 or in a couple of days.

The FCC has revealed more details about the upcoming Casio Exilim NX-9250 clamshell for Verizon. According to the draft user manual, the phone comes in a moisture, dust and shock resistant casing, and its features are as follows:

• Dual-band CDMA/EVDO Rev. A;
• Bluetooth;
• 5.1Mpix camera with optical zoom, video capture and flash;
• Dedicated media playback keys;
• microSD cards;
• TV out;
• Support for VZW services, such as V CAST

Neither Verizon nor Casio have announced this handset.

Verizon's Casio C721 Exilim 5Mpix cameraphone was first spotted in February. Since then we haven't heard anything about it, until today. Buywirelessnow has published a new picture of this unannounced handset, and named some of its accessories. From the image we can see that the phone's lower flip will come a champagne/silver color, while the upper flip will be black. There is also a "Media Center" icon in the middle of the homescreen.

Introducing the new Casio CA001. It features a great 3.1" WVGA touchscreen with a usual alphanumeric keypad hidden behind it. Apart from that, since it's Casio, the phone comes with a 5Mpix camera with autofocus, e-wallet support and audio/video-on-demand services. It measures in at 50 x 109 x 17.8mm and weighs 122 grams.
