PCD TXT8030 is a new interesting handset showcased at the CTIA show recently. Its main point of attraction is its rotating bottom part, which, similarly to the Nokia 3250 XpressMusic, comes with a full QWERTY keyboard on one side, and music control keys coupled with big speakers on the other. It looks like the device is meant for youngsters who mostly use their phone for texting and music.

It looks like the first carrier to offer the new CDMA-based BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8230 will be Canadian Bell. Until March 12th, you can pick it up for just $29.95 on a 3-year contract.

FCC site revealed a CDMA BlackBerry Pearl Flip, which we thought didn't exist. It supports CDMA and EV-DO on the 850 and 1900 MHz bands, and will probably be available via Verizon and Telus when it's approved.

 

Thanks to some PPCGeeks.com forum members, a couple of HTC's CDMA smartphones, such as the HTC Touch and the HTC Touch Pro can now run a hacked pre-release version of Windows Mobile 6.5. The new ROMs are now available for download at PPCGeeks.com forum, so if you're willing to risk bricking your handset, feel free to try the new OS.

The Nokia's new 1006 is a nice phone for anybody looking for a low-end CDMA handset. It will be available in the U.S. and Canada in either blue or silver, and will have such features as voice memos, speakerphone, and 500 entry phone book.

The FCC has approved the new Samsung SCH-R470 music clamshell for U.S. Cellular. According draft user manual, the R470 comes with:

Pantech has started preparing for the Valentine’s Day long before Feb 14th, and has unveiled a new handset called Cupid IM-S390. Specifications aren't too shabby, especially when you take 7.2Mbps HSDPA and mobile TV into account.

Pantech IM-S390 features:

• CDMA/HSDPA (7.2Mbps);
• Dimensions: 103.5 x 48 x 12.5-13.5 mm;

Pantech's SKY has released IM-S400L in Korea. Featurewise, we only know that it is CDMA handset with a 2.6" LCD, and a keypad using the company's new "Glide Sensor" technology, similar to the laptop's trackpad. It's available in white, pink, blue and green for ₩500,000 (~$395) only in Korea.

Lusacell Mexico has rolled out the first Windows Mobile Professional-based CDMA phone in the country made by TechFaith.

Strangely, it comes with the version 6.0 OS, instead of 6.1. Specs wise, the handset comes with:

Nokia 2608 is the latest CDMA phone, announced by company. Basic features include:

• voice memo recording;
• speaker phone;
• FM radio.

Nokia 2608 is presented in 3 different color schemes: fuchsia with a pink stripe, silver with a green stripe, and black with a blue stripe.

The phone will be available in Q1 2009.
