Nokia's new 2228 phone is nothing to look at.
A basic CDMA handset with a 1.3Mpix camera, integrated multimedia player, support for tethering and a LED indicator for incoming messages is all we could highlight here.
Expect it to appear anywhere during this quarter.

Pantech has launched two new sliders in Korea, the SKY IM-S380K and IM-S360L.
The first one supports HSDPA network, and features a 7:3 widescreen display, FM radio, microSD slot, Bluetooth, GPS, and will be available in pink, white, and black for about 400,000 won ($347) by the end of the year.
The second is a CDMA phone for the Korean LG Telecom.

FCC has unveiled two new phones today, the Samsung T919 for T-Mobile and the LG VX9600 for Verizon Wireless.
The T919 is a tri-band GSM/3G handset with support for 1700MHz WCDMA and probably HSDPA. Other features may include MP3 player, a-GPS and a full Internet browser with "touch".
The LG VX9600 is a CDMA 850/1900 / EVDO handset with a 3" touch sensitive display with 3D graphical UI, according to documents.

FCC has recently showed two new variants of the Samsung Omnia handset, the i910 and i907.
The first is a CDMA phone bound for Verizon Wireless, and the other is a customly designed Omnia for AT&T.
There is no info about these yet, so we'll have to wait for the official confirmation.

According to PC Magazine, Sprint is all set to release the CDMA version of the HTC Touch Diamond on September 14 for $249.99 on a 2-year contract after a $100 rebate.

CDMA service provider MetroPCS announced that it the near future it will move to the 4G GSM/LTE network. The respective network is potentially able to speeds downlink speeds of up to 386Mbps, and upload speeds of nearly 86Mbps.
Earlier this year such major carriers like Verizon and Alltel also announced their CDMA to LTE upgrade plans, and AT&T will apparenltly follow their example.

It has been 10 months already since RIM announced its BlackBerry Pearl 8130 for CDMA operators. And only now Virgin Mobile Canada decided to pick this one up. Better late than never? Well, think again: the phone is available for free on a 3-year contract, $299 on a 2-year plan, $349 on a 1-year plan and $399 on a 30-day contract.

This is the recently spotted yet unannounced Motorola VE240. There is litle known about it so far, but according to the available info the phone apparently belongs to the budget category, supports CDMA network, and features a small 65K color screen, Bluetooth and dedicated music keys, which prove its music playback capabilities.
Naturally, there's no info on the release date and price.

As expected, the new Motorola Adventure V750 has landed on Verizon. Basically, this rugged clamshell is a pretty usual cell phone, and offers the following features:
- EV-DO Rev. A data;
- 2.2" QVGA internal screen;
- 1.6" external screen;
- 2Mpix camera;
- Bluetooth;
- PTT ($5/month);
- media player;
- microSD slot
Available now through the carrier's website for $100 on a 2-year contract.

As expected, the CDMA version of the HTC Touch Diamond smartphone passed the FCC. So far it was announced only by Canadian Telus, but with the FCC's approval on their hands nothing prevents other CDMA carriers in the U.S. from getting it.
