FCC Site Unveils LG AX-300

LG AX-300 is a new basic clamshell revealed yesterday at the FCC site.

The phone supports dual-band CDMA network with 1xRTT data. It also comes with an internal antenna, a VGA (probably) camera, a speakerphone, and Bluetooth.

This model will most likely hat Alltel soon, but FCC documentation indicates a couple of other models, including VX-5500 and UX-300, which might be launched on Verizon Wireless or U.

Nokia came up with yet another stylish low-end clamshell with the model number 6205.

The phone will be available on Verizon's CDMA network sometime in mid-June and will sport features like MP3 player, VGA camera and two screens.

Nokia Unveiled 1606 and 3606 Low-End CDMA Phones

Nokia unveiled two new entry-level CDMA handsets with support for 1700 MHz (AWS) band.

  • The first is the Nokia 1606, a basic clamshell cell phone with 8MB of internal memory, flashlight, 1.8" internal 262k color and external monochrome displays, and a battery, which provides up to 3.5 hours of talk and 10 days of standby time.
  • The second model is the Nokia 3606, still a low-end phone, but a little more advanced.

Kyocera announced three new low-end CDMA phones

Kyocera is known as the low-end handset manufacturer. And as expected its three latest CDMA cell phones are no exception. Check them out:

  • Neo E1100: 2.2" QVGA display, Bluetooth 2.0, BREW platform, 1.3Mpix camera and a hidden OLED out display
  • Mako S4000: two screens (internal 1.8"), VGA camera, BREW platform, Bluetooth
  • Adreno S2400: 1.

FCC Approves the UTStarcom CDM-7126 Tri-band CDMA Phone

The FCC has recently approved the new UTStarcom CDM-7126, which is the first tri-band CDMA phone supporting CDMA 850/1900 and 1700 AWS bands.

Carriers, who can pick up this handset, are Cricket, MetroPCS and US Cellular. Otherwise, the 7126 is a low-end clamshell similar to the 7125.

No word on the release date or pricing as of yet.

LG LX150 Low-End CDMA phone from Sprint

LG LX150 is an entry-level CDMA phone available on Sprint Network.

LG LX150 Features include Bluetooth connectivity, internal 262K color screen and an external monochrome display, Java support, Web access, and polyphonic ringtones.

You can get it for $105 after a 2-year contract with Sprint.

Ultra-rugged SANYO SCP-7050 Phone

SANYO has presented at CES their new "ultra-rugged" (as they call it) GPS-enabled cell phone, named SCP-7050.

The handset is fully "compliant with military standard 810F for dust, shock, and vibration" and is a great companion for those working in mobile field operations. Besides autonomous GPS the phone also supports Java MVM, which allows to run several Java applications at a time.

Nortel and Qualcomm have developed a technology that will allow users to easily switch between CDMA and Wi-Fi networks while talking on the phone.

The technology was tested on the Nortel's IMS-based Voice Call Continuity network using the IMS/VCC client from Qualcomm.

Verizon Wireless started offering the CDMA version of the Blackberry Pearl smartphone, which is the company's first ever CDMA handset.

Features of the Pearl include support for dual-band EVDO (800/1900 MHz) network, integration with up to 10 e-mail accounts, a 2Mpix camera, and a 240x260 resolution screen.

Bluebird BM-500 PDA Comes to Korea

BlueBird has presented its new PIDION BM-500 WM5-based CDMA smartphone at the CEBIT event in Hanover, Germany. The handset comes in candy bar form-factor and has an attractive design. The navigation buttons are moved to the left side of the handset, which is quite uncomfortable.
